Now, I know it is bad to be pessimistic with all of the holidays coming up, but I need to let some steam out. If I do not, I will put all of my anger on an innocent person.
1. Everyone grows at their own pace, some faster then others, but the key word here is grow. I had a friend who said that every flower blooms in their own way, and you cannot force it. But, every flower must bloom. If they do not, they are not completely a flower, just a plant. Same with humans. A person grows up at their own pace, but if they never grow up, they are not complete.
2. A relationship should be with two people who can stand independent, but together, they are better people. In order to be in a relationship, you have to agree and love yourself. If you do not, you cannot love another person. I learned this the hard way, experience. Be independent so that you are your own person and are complete without the person, but your significant other should let you be a better person. Example: Ice cream is great on its own, but with whipped cream, it is better.
3. Not everyone likes the holiday season, myself included. Yes, I am a scrooge. I do not like the holidays, never did. I have no idea why, but once I do, I will tell you. There is just something about the holidays I do not like.
4. Getting even does not get you ahead. Revenge, yes, I love it, but I am not a strong believer in it. Do not waste your time trying to get back at someone. Let karma do the work. Even if it takes a bit of time, it is worth it.
5. No pain no gain. You cannot overcome or learn from heartbreak if you never experienced it. You cannot go about life thinking that you will not make mistakes. My best achievements come from making mistakes. You are young still, so make mistakes. And when you do, go all out. You can only do it once.
6. No one has control everything. I am sorry, but you cannot control everything. Even if you try to, it is not going to work.
7. You are free from your past, but everyone seems to put themselves under lock and key with it. There is the reason why it is the past. I know you cannot forget it, but do not trap yourself under it. You deserve better.
8. Never settle for less. This means from your favorite ice cream to friends. I had friends that would come and go because they thought I was not good enough and then come back. I did not take them back because they saw me as second choice. I do not like to be second choice, and you should not either. Do what you want to do, not what someone else wants you to do.
9. Love should not hurt. Believe it or not, but love is a good thing, happy even. It is people that is the problem. If you are unhappy in a relationship, say it. Do not keep it in.
10. You only remember what you want to remember. Our minds are nutty for that. There is a reason why youu remember each moment, good or bad.
11. You can drop everything and leave. If you hate it that much or just want a clean slate, drop everything and leave. You deserve to be happy.
12. People change. If you read my posts about my younger years, you can tell I have changed dramatically for good and bad.
13. You are not Alice; you can escape your rabbit hole. Climb, swing, do whatever you need in order for you to be free.
14. A person without a destination does not mean they are lost. I have no destination; I have no idea what I want to do in life, but I am not lost.
15. Everyone will find their soulmate. Do not worry, someone out their is for you. Yes, you will meet a lot of jerks (for girls) and crazy girls (for boys), but it will be worth it. I am actually more happy single, but when I am ready, I will search again.
16. Only time will tell. You cannot have a plan for everything and expect for it to work in the way you want. You will experience some twists and turns, but only time will tell.
17. It is ok to break down. I did and still do. If it gets overwhelming, you are allowed to cry.
18. Be kind to yourself. You are your own worst enemy and critic. Do not take yourself to hard. Take it easy and slow, and everything should fall in place.
19. Everyone has their own story. Some want to tell; others do not. I cannot tell you my story yet because I am not finish with it. Finishing a chapter in life does not mean you finished your story. Others finish faster than others, and some never do.
20. Friends and family will criticize you, but should only do it for your own benefit. Some people will say the darnest things to me, and they will tell me everything I am doing wrong (which is everything). Only criticize me if you are trying to get be better.
Anyway, happy holidays for all of you angels. I am in a transition phase, but I met some friends today. They made my day so much brighter, and hopefully, they will stick around. Love and best of wishes.
