I think people just overreact. It makes more sense to stay calm and go with the flow than to cause more trouuble. As stupid as it sounds, I think if we do this, we are making the world a better and calmer place. Just imagine, if everyone go with flow. It would be so much better.
Mona Lisa is a little portrait where she is showing no emotion whatsoever. I admire her for that because even though she does not show any emotion, she is still considered one of the greatest paintings of all time. :).
Anyway, I have been wanting to do a post on clothes inspired by songs. So lets get started.
1. "The Summer We Raised You" by Years Around the Sun
Billabong |
Free People |
No accessories because I wanted to keep that carefree look, but go right ahead. The dress is so pretty and angelic, it looks gorgeous in person. To keep that angel look, gladiator sandals makes it have that greek goddess look. I would go barefoot in this look, but society makes us wear shoes if we want to get served.
2. "It Ends Tonight" by The All American Rejects
Doc Martens |

ModCloth |
Get that post-grunge look with a cutesy dress and classic Doc Martens. When I was younger, I would try to find the most girly dress I could find and edge it up somehow, usually by black tights and black combat boots. Add a studded bracelet, black tights, and black bowler hat to finish it off to get that post-grunge look of the 2000s.
3. "Asleep" by The Smiths

4. "Woodland" by Paper Kites

I do not know about you, but I prefer to be barefeet. I feel as though I am with the earth then instead of when I am wearing shoes because you can feel the earth if that makes sense. Anyway, this song is very carefree, and I wanted to capture that with the bubble gum pink jumper and crochet shorts. Of course, feel free to wear shoes if wanted.
5. "More Than Life" by Whitley

More than life is a very calming yet sorrowful song. It is a very smooth song and makes every atomsphere better. This outfit is rather simple and cozy because that is how I feel whenever I listen to this song. I feel free, so does this outfit.
6. "Kids in the Street" by the All American Rejects

In my opinion, nothing screams youth more than a t-shirt, denim cutoffs, and sneakers. Kids in the Street celebrates youth and I wanted to capture it. Like the song, hopefully, this reminds you of your high-school years (in a good way). Of course, in most parts in the world, it will be too cold to wear something like this, but we can wait till summer.
7. "Iridescent" by Linkin Park
Free People |
Urban Outfitters |
Iridescent is a power ballad, and the song is very encouraging and represents a new beginning. I think the dress represents the comfort and that is what the song is about. A boot with an interesting texture and color will give it that iridescent quality and will off balance the muted colors on the dress.
8. "Serendipity" by Greg Holden

I absolutely love this song because out of my entire playlist, this is one of the few that are not pessimistic nor am I annoyed by. So, thank you Greg Holden. This dress represents the flowyness of the song, the socks give it a more cutesy vibe, and rain boots to add texture and because this song is great to be played on a rainy day.
9. "Miles Away" by Years Around the Sun
People Tree |
Billabong |
Ok, this is the ultimate beach/road trip song. Feeling free is needed in order to be sane. I prefer to be barefeet, and I would wear this barefeet. Of course, I will put some sandals inside the purse just in case if the restaurants will not serve me (who came up with that dumb rule?). Yep, feel free and be barefeet.
10. "There is a Light that Never Goes Out" by the Smiths

Ok, the song by the Smiths uses a lot of irony, so I decided to use a black canvas for our clothing. The floral shirt is offset by the studded boots and leather shorts, and I added tights for those who live in colder climates. Black can look quite dull, but if we used different prints and textures (as done here), we can make it look interesting.
All right those are my thoughts, my favorite songs, and my style. As you can see, I am really into things that are comfortable. Comfort before style, always. You can always add accesories if you want, but I do not like accesories. I am a miminmalist, I just do not want to wear extra things. Yes, I prefer to walk around barefoot just because it is more comfortable. I hope you all know what I mean. Have a great holiday and stay safe.
With Love,
Violet Sar Bleu
