Do you realize how difficult it is to make a face look alive on paper with its eyes closed? I mean seriously, my portrait looks like a corpse, and I hate it. It looks dead. She looks worse than a zombie, worse than Medusa. However, I believe that Medusa is not ugly, it is probably just the eyes. Yes, I have been working on portraits, and usually, I can make eyes look alive and the eyes usually save me, but I had to make a portrait with eyes closed. Although it is good to be challenged, this is too difficult. It is not the shading that is making me have troubles, but the idea of making it look alive.
Every single Ash Wednesday, some how I eat meat. I do not mean to eat meat and never do, but one Ash Wednesday I eat meat. This year was dumplings. I do not do it on purpose. Next year, I better not do it.
On Fat Tuesday, I had king cake. Have you ever had it? It is like a huge cinnamon roll with icing and excess amount of sugar. Just do not get the baby or you have buy it next year.
My dance studio have taken me out of performing and as a person to test choreography on, kind of like a guinea pig. In our studio we have to get choreography approved through video, and I am the one who dances in the videos now. Yep, no more performing, no more makeup :).
